Surfacing

Playground Safety Surfacing

As part of our service, we ensure the right safety surface is installed for the needs of the play area.

Wetpour

Safety doesn’t have to be boring! Our wetpour rubber surfacing allows us to create a soft impact area with stimulating colourful graphics. The base layer of the wetpour is made from recycled tyre rubber. The top layer can be coloured in a variety of patterns and shapes, with lots of colours to choose from. Our colours can be mixed to create a fleck-effect surface.

Rubber Mulch

This safety surface looks and feels like wood bark chippings without the scatter. It is made from 90% recycled tyre rubber to create a durable safety surface that is very natural looking.

Top five reasons to use rubber mulch.

• Can be installed directly onto grass
• Offer a natural look over other alternative playground surfaces
• Fast drainage so minimal surface water or flooding
• No maintenance – no loose materials
• Environmentally friendly, created with recycled materials.

The mulch can be one solid colour, or have a mix of up to 3 colours. The end finishing look can be shredded or bonded.

Suds Bond

Is a great pathing solution for all users. SUDS-Bond surfacing is composed of recycled black tyre rubber granules and colours aggregate. This material is water permeable that is suitable safety path for pedestrians, wheelchairs users, prams and buggies, bicycles, and equestrians.

Grass Mats

At Scotplay we love grass, there is something about it that is so appealing. In Scotland we are lucky to have well established grass in most of our play area, and it is a great natural safety surface (from small heights). However, due to our wet skies, grass that is constantly walked/played on can turn to mud very quickly. Therefore, we recommend grass mats are used to maintain the grass in all its natural glory.

Not long after the grass mats are pinned down, the grass grows through the holes – the mat becomes barely visible through the green leaves and the grass can be cut like normal.
